Hi, I’m Kevin and I live in Dallas Texas. I was born in South Bend Indiana in 1965 and am the oldest of six. After a few years of moving around with my family we landed in Alief, a suburb of Houston Texas. That is where I grew up, got married and had my children. I don’t remember a first interest in photography, rather it’s always just been there. I do remember getting my first decent camera when I was a freshman in high school. The Mamiya 35mm wasn’t fancy or elegant but it was tough and reliable. I taught myself how to use it and I used it to learn how to visualize, compose and expose photographs. 

After high school I completed the New York Institute of Photography’s general photography correspondence course and went to work as a freelance photographer shooting events and  promo work for local night clubs. Ultimately my career and education took a different tack but photography remained a constant. Over the years I’ve made thousands of photographs. I have photographed events, made portraits and created different types of images. Lately I am increasingly interested in the creative use of light and how it can be directed to improve images and even create images that would be impossible under normal lighting conditions.
